Job after PhD in reinforcement learning?

Hey everyone, I’m currently pursuing my MS in robotics(control theory) at a reputed University in USA and I’m seeking to pursue a PhD after that. I’m planning to switch from control theory(traditional control) to learning theory(deep RL, machine learning) as my specialization during my PhD. Considering I’ll finish my PhD in 2022 (4 years from now) and that I want to end up in the robotics industry after my PhD research, what is your opinion about this switch from control theory to learning theory? How will this affect my job prospects ? Are the big companies like Google, Amazon, fb hiring phds in learning based control?

Thanks.
