ROS Turtlebot on a Jetson (TK1, TX1, TX2) Platform

I presently have a TK1 that I have tried repeatedly to get ROS and Turtlebot software running on so that I can then play around with it attached to an old Roomba that I have. I always seem to run into a different kind of road block, despite carefully following the wikis. Am I wasting my time trying to get a TK1 running ROS and Turtlebot code, or am I missing some key piece of information (a lot of the Jetson-specific resources about ROS seem really disjointed from one another, even more so for TK1-specific resources)?

Sorry in advance if this has been discussed prior – a search of this sub didn’t turn up anything.
