Three years ago when Campus Safety magazine conducted its last salary survey, the U.S. economy had finally fully recovered from the Great Recession. Not surprisingly, the pay rates of campus police chiefs, security directors, officers and other employees reflected this recovery to varying extents. Most respondents, however, said their departments were grossly understaffed.
It’s once again time to take the temperature of hospital, university and K-12 campus public safety departments so we can determine if there have been any changes. The 2018 Campus Safety Salary Survey’s goal is to find out whether or not salaries have continued to rise over the past three years. Additionally, what about department staffing levels, job satisfaction, minority and gender representation, and officer incentives? All of these issues and more will be covered in this study, but we need your help.
As a valued member of the Campus Safety magazine community, we are requesting you take our survey. Doing so will help us help hospitals, schools and universities better understand and address the needs of their public safety, security and emergency management departments. It will also serve as a benchmark for healthcare and education public safety departments across North America.
To thank you for completing the questionnaire, you will have the option to enter a drawing for the chance to win one of the four $25 gift certificates that we’ll be awarding at the conclusion of the survey.
The survey will take about ten minutes to complete. Although you might be hesitant to release your salary information, rest assured that your answers, E-mail address and identity, as well as that of your campus, will remain confidential and will only be used in tabulation with answers from other respondents. The results of this survey will appear in an upcoming issue of Campus Safety magazine as well as online at CampusSafetyMagazine.com.
We also encourage you to pass along this survey link to your peers at other institutions so they can participate. The more campus protection pros we get to take the survey, the better and more helpful the data!
Thank you for participating.
