I am currently putting together a robot for the Mercury Robotics competition at Oklahoma State. We recently presented our design to the club in order to get it funded and were given a few suggestions. We planned on using a Raspberry Pi to run the robot, this runs counter to what the club normally does as they use Ardiunos to control their robots. We were told that a Raspberry Pi does not have accurate enough timing to work with encoders and other timing sensitive sensors. I was wondering if a Raspberry Pi is going to work or if we need to switch to another control system like an Arduino Mega or possibly a BeagleBoard. I am happy to hear any suggestions you have!
