Voice Controlled Robot Arm

I would like to build a voice controlled robot arm, the idea is for one to speak the arm to pick a certain object and it will then recognize the object and proceed to pick it up. I would like to use a raspberry pi but I don’t what sort of arm to go for(No idea what d.o.f to pick).

I mainly use Python for programming and am familiar with Tensorflow and Keras for the machine learning part. What type of arm would you recommend? What do I need to program the arm? If any what advice do you think would help?
