I just had a question that is probably fairly basic to all of you. This isn’t exactly a robot question so if I am breaking any subreddit rules please let me know.
I am looking to build a linear tool holder that I can make travel back and forth at variable speeds. This would be similar to a cnc machine with one degree of freedom. I have no experience in this type of work and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.
Currently I have looked at continous rotation servos which look promising. The only issue that I may have with that is I can’t seem to find if it would be possible to vary the speeds.
To be upfront this is a project for school so I don’t want anything to be done for me just some recommendations on where to start.
