Reccomendations for motion in beginner project.

I’m very new to all of this, and I am building essentially a robot that just moves side to side (rotationally) and up and down in a sinusoidal/crescent moon sortof arc. I hope that makes sense. How would you accomplish this? I’ve been looking at the different motor types and I just can’t visualize how to make both happen simultaneously. Thanks! Im using the arduino Uno.
