I have an archive business, where a lot of the work is repetitive and doesn’t require a human if I programed an arm. Im considering buying a dorma arm, since it seems like the cheapest one with precision and a kilo of payload, but 1500 still seems a lot for one step above the kit level.
How good are the open sourced 3d printed options and how expensive do they end up being and how difficult are they to make? Surprisingly the community that is into these projects seems relatively small and the work seems pretty technical. I am particularly worried about the programming of the thing, and the controller, getting that to talk with my pc via usb.
Anyone here have experience with this and could either point me in the direction of some good purchase options or could tell about your experience building one yourself?
