Wireless buttons?

I want to create buttons that I can use wirelessly. The ideal would be to have it wirelessly transmit to an api (e.g. raspberry pi server or ifttt) when the button is pressed. I plan on 3D printing a large button that will push down on an actuator that I’d connect to some kind of device (this device is the part I’m unsure about) that would transmit a signal wirelessly.

However, I’m looking for the most inexpensive wireless option to accomplish this. The cheapest wireless solution I can find so far for the actuator is the Raspberry Pi Zero W. Is that the best option I have? Is there anything else that is cheaper/simpler? I imagine the zero w is overkill for a single button, so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks!
