I am currently working on a machine lathe that is mainly all aluminum and 3D printed parts. Currently I have the x and y axis controller by lead screw with attached hand wheels. I’d really like to attach a stepper to each axis to control without handles. I don’t want it to be CNC, I just want to be able to control the axis with a motor. I know how to do this with a DC motor, but not with a stepper. I’ve looked at stepper shields, but I still don’t see any kind of simple solution you would see for a DC motor.
Does anyone have anything that I could use for this?
