Has anyone gotten ros2 + CIRO working ?

I just started my PhD, the lab here isn’t much into robotics but has ambitions into robotics. They want to make an autonomous agent navigate an environment with almost no human input but also want to use CRIO/Labview. I’m more of a ros guy and wants to get started on using ros2(“future proof”). So I’m wondering did anyone get this thing up and running ? Or I’m I in a path which is generally the case with ros2 alone ?
